Dietary Preferences and Restrictions

CaterSpot allows customers to easily specify dietary preferences and restrictions when placing catering orders, ensuring that all guests’ needs are met. Here’s how you can include dietary preferences and restrictions during the ordering process:

Step 1: Start Browsing Caterers

•On the CaterSpot homepage, you’ll find the Catering tab. Click on it to begin browsing menus from various caterers.

•You can use filters to refine your search based on your event’s specific needs. On the left-hand side of the page, there are Special Filters you can apply to find vendors that match dietary restrictions.

Step 2: Use Dietary Restriction Filters

Under the Special Filters section, you’ll find options to select caterers based on specific dietary needs. These include:

Halal Certified

Vegetarian (V)

Vegan (VG)

Gluten-Free (GF)

Nut-Free (NF)

Dairy-Free (DF)

Muslim-Friendly (MF): Vendors that prepare food with halal ingredients but do not have halal certification.

By selecting these options, you can narrow down the list of caterers that offer meals meeting specific dietary requirements.

Step 3: View Menu Items

Once you’ve selected a caterer, you can view their menu items. Many of the items will have icons or labels to indicate their dietary properties. For example, you might see:

V for vegetarian

VG for vegan

GF for gluten-free

NF for nut-free

DF for dairy-free

H for halal

MF for Muslim-friendly

These labels help you easily identify which menu items align with specific dietary preferences or restrictions.

Step 4: Add to Order and Continue to Checkout

After reviewing the menu items, you can adjust the quantities and add the appropriate dishes to your order. Once you’re done, click Continue to Checkout to proceed.

Step 5: Add Delivery Instructions and Special Requests

During the checkout process, you’ll come across the Delivery Special Instructions box. Here, you can add any specific notes related to dietary preferences or restrictions that were not covered by the caterer’s options. For example, you can specify:

•Special handling of ingredients (e.g., no peanuts, extra gluten-free options)

•Cross-contamination concerns (e.g., for those with severe allergies)

Step 6: Review and Confirm Order

Before placing your order, review all details, including the menu items and any special dietary notes you’ve added. Once everything looks good, click Order Now to finalize the process.

Important Note on Dietary Preferences and Restrictions:

Please be aware that while we aim to accommodate all dietary needs, the final preparation and handling of the food is at the caterer or restaurant’s discretion. Certain dietary preferences or restrictions, especially related to allergies or cross-contamination, may not always be guaranteed. We recommend reaching out to the vendor directly for more information or clarification on how they handle specific dietary requirements.

By following these steps, you can ensure that all dietary preferences and restrictions are clearly noted, ensuring a smooth catering experience for your event while understanding that some limitations may apply depending on the caterer.
